Wandering in the Great Unknown
Duo Countertenor and Piano
Wandering and travelling are essential parts of our human makeup.
These deeply rooted instincts have fascinated poets and story-tellers throughout the centuries, and have resulted in extraordinary sagas of growth and transformation.
It is not surprising that music lends itself naturally to suggest wandering through time and space. The suggested program is formed by three intermingling song cycles: Schubert's Winterreise (in a piano transcription by Liszt), Songs of Travel by Vaughan Williams and Elgar's Sea Pictures.
